This series!! Just can’t say enough good things about it! I think what I learned most is that we can’t control aging - it happens to every single one of us, but what we can control to some degree is how well we age. Turning 60 was daunting 8 weeks ago, but somewhere along the way, I realized 60 is absolutely awesome when you are strong, consistent in working on good daily habits and saying goodbye to habits that aren’t life-giving. I look strong and not to boast, freaking good, regardless of my age, but that’s just icing on the cake to how good I feel! SALT training and you Jenny Fisher have been a sweet and transforming gift in the latter season of life. Grateful, extremely grateful!! 🩵🧂

Week 8 Thursday leg session was pure insanity. I’m so grateful I extended this week out. No way I would have been able to execute this one in full force last week. But today, I felt strong to the point of misunderstanding the BSS and doing seven rounds instead of four. I did both legs in the one minute. By round seven I was crying and stringing words together that would have made a sailor blush. Final HIIT I decided to level up and put on my weighted vest- I swriously questioned my choices by minute four but got through all eight minutes without taking it off. Looking forward to whatever is on tap tomorrow because I know it won’t involve my legs!! My cute little four legged trainer enjoyed cheering me on today!

Week 8 of beach shred is going to take a little longer than seven days due to life just being life last week. I trained sun-tues and by Wednesday was mentally, physically, and emotionally wiped out. Did what any good athlete would do and listened to my body and gave it rest. Got walks in and focused on just relieving the stress of the week in healthy ways. Back today with the chest and shoulder session and will work through the rest of week 8 this week. This challenge has really been transformative for me, physically and mentally. I just feel good and oddly enough people have commented about my strength - strangers, which honestly hits differently than people who know me and know fitness is an integral part of my life. I have loved seeing everyone’s progress posts on Instagram and truly feel blessed to be part of such an incredible and committed group of athletes. Everyone of you inspires me to be better! If you are still working through this challenge like me, know I’m here cheering you on. If you have finished, way to stay dedicated to being the best version of yourself! 🩵🧂

Was not feeling it today! Two days packed with meetings and legsthat are still in the grave from yesterday’s leg session. But I knew I needed to do something, and how serendipitous that Jenny started off saying if all you have to give is 40 percent today, give me 100 percent of that. Somewhere along the way my body caught up with my discipline and while I wasn’t at 100 percent, I managed to get to about 70 percent t. Even managed a donkey kick handstand for the first time ever and that totally pumped me up! Hoping to be fueled better for tomorrow!
