Finally had the energy to get to Friday’s workout. Last two weeks have been a struggle with low back issues, low energy, and just not feeling great. Found out Thursday that I have a UTI (PSA for new puppy owners: don’t hold your pee at night for fear of waking up your new puppy… especially when they are already sleeping through the night!). Finally feeling a bit back to normal today, and this workout was just what I needed to get re-motivated and energized. Had some great revelations this week regarding my emotional health and training. All I did from Wednesday on was walk the dogs, and each day I noticed my thoughts getting darker and more self-destructive. Kept having to speak truth into the lies and the mental warfare was a bit brutal. But I have been doing this long enough to know how important the physical and mental connection are for me, so today, despite not being 100 percent, I knew I needed to get a good session in. In case any of you find yourself in a spiral of guilt and self-loathing because you have missed a few workouts or even a week, just step back onto the mat and reset your mindset. We are all so much stronger than we think, and so often it is the mental victory that requires the greatest effort. Ready for week 9!

Thanks for the reminder! 🩵

Annie in your weather I don’t know how you even get out of bed every day! Definitely grateful our really cold days only last about a week once or twice a month during winter, and also grateful I have a dog who loves and demands to walk in any temperature. He really keeps me more active in the winter than I would be without him bugging me!

Dianna Henslee we are definitely our own worst enemy when it comes to staying consistent, aren’t we?! Just keep getting back on track and eventually those three days will turn into five and then ten and then a lifestyle. Our health is a process where hopefully every day we are moving forward, even if it’s just a few steps! Getting stronger has been so empowering for me and I hope you too!!🫶🏻

Back and biceps are toast! Such a great session, and I so appreciated your pep talk at the end. Pretty sure my weight hasn’t changed (I only see what I weigh when I go to the dr), despite making intentional changes to my diet. That said, I am so much stronger and my clothes still fit me really well - maybe better? On a side note, any else wake up yesterday regretting that walking was a non-negotiable? Holy Frick that leg session had me sore two hours post workout! LOVED it!

Leg session on week 8 will offer you a similar experience!

I thought the same thing! 2025 is already gearing up to be a blur!

Will miss seeing you Paula and praying that all goes well with your surgery! Won’t be at the retreat due to scheduling issues and logistics, and I am still so incredibly sad about it!
