Thatā€™s so amazing!!!! I fight the protein battle with my little to so Iā€™m really hoping the lead by example technique also pays off. Way to go!

Thanks!! My mom did a lot of work in breaking the first step of this, she NEVER commented on how my body looked or an outfit etc expect to ask how I felt in something, if I felt strong, happy etc (a BIG change from how she was raised) but she always talked down about herself, which eventually transferred to me (if she didnā€™t like her thighs & I had big thighsā€¦ or if she commented on someone elseā€™s ā€œflawsā€ šŸ™„ and I had a similar feature etc) so thatā€™s the step Iā€™m trying to change now & oddly enough itā€™s rubbing off on my mom too šŸ˜‚

Thank you! Pretty sure Iā€™m pretty lucky to have such a fierce daughter who not only pushes my buttons (weā€™re sooo alike lol) but also pushes me in all the good ways haha

Thank you- it was definitely not easy at all and I did not feel like tuning in to the workout this am, but all that changed after our interaction. Iā€™ll take motivation however I can get it until the discipline & habits build back up

Today as we were getting ready for the pool my daughter asked why I never wear my two-piecesā€¦my mental thought was ā€œbecause I hate my bodyā€ but Iā€™m determined to not pass that mentality on to her so instead I told her to pick one out for me. It occurred to me I never worry about what the other moms are wearing at the pool, except to wish I felt confident enough to do it. So today I put on the hot pink bikini she picked (no chance of going unnoticed lol), chose to believe her when she told me I was beautiful, and then despite being hot and tired when we got home, I pushed play on the leg day workout and crushed it. Not because I felt like I ā€œhad toā€ but because I wanted to continue to show her that I love how strong it is, even now. Little wins every day!

Starting the beach shred a little behind, but just finished my first solid workout in almost 10 months (with my emotional support lab šŸ¤£) I let too many distractions & excuses keep me from my fitness for too long but it feels amazing (and exhausting) to be back at it!
